Streaky Bay Waste Transfer and Resource Recovery Centre
Located at 28964 Flinders Highway, Streaky Bay SA 5680 (heading out of town towards Port Lincoln).
The centre is operated by the District Council of Streaky Bay.

Fees and Charges
Fees apply for the disposal of all waste and products, general household waste, tyres (rims removed), electrical goods, white goods (fridges/freezers must be de-gassed), timber, mattresses and cardboard) at the Streaky Bay Waste Transfer and Resource Recovery Centre. Multi pass cards are available for purchase at the Council Office. Please note there is no discount for multi pass purchases.
Due to the introduction of the Waste Services Levy for kerbside collection, Council will no longer be issuing Annual Pass Cards to those residents outside of the collection area.
Waste Segregation
To assist with management of the centre it is important that users dispose of waste in the correct locations and as directed by the facility operator.
All waste should be segregated as follows;
Timber, steel, tyres, white goods, cardboard, green waste, other hard waste (building materials) and general household waste, and as directed by the facility operator.

TRANSFER STATION CLOSED - All Public Holidays, Catastrophic declared Fire Ban Days (as issued by the CFS) and as adverse weather conditions dictate to maintain the safety of staff and customers.
Recycling
You can take your refundable cans and bottles to the centre for the 10 cent refund.
Non-refundable glass (jars, wine and spirit bottles) can be dropped off for recycling.
Cardboard (fees apply) is also accepted for recycling.

Waste Oil Collection Facility (Motor Oil Only)
Council has a waste oil collection facility (for used motor oils) located at the depot on Jubilee Road for use by the public. Please contact the Council Office on 8626 1001 to arrange drop off.
Load Restrictions/Large Items
Loads in excess of 5m3, large steel items such as cars and tanks, asbestos and liquid waste will not be accepted at this site. These can be taken to the Cungena Landfill Site.

Bins will be located outside the Transfer Station for public use during the public holiday closure. The area will be monitored, please be aware that dumping waste next to the bins is considered illegal dumping.
To maintain the safety of staff and customers, the Transfer Station will close on Catastrophic Fire Ban Days and as adverse weather conditions dictate.
Normal opening times will resume from Tuesday 2nd January 2024 .

There will be no disruption to collection services over this time, collections will occur as per normal:

Business Kerbside Bin Collections (Streaky Bay)
There will be no collections on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
