Council provides a Community Wastewater Management Scheme (CWMS) to the Streaky Bay Township. This was formerly known as the septic tank effluent disposal scheme (STEDS).
To fund the provision of this service Council imposes an annual service charge to recover the cost to Council of establishing, operating, maintain, improving and replacing infrastructure. These charges are detailed in the Streaky Bay Community Wastewater Management Scheme Customer Charter Policy
Council is committed to assisting residential customers of the Streaky Bay Community Wastewater Management Scheme, who are experiencing financial hardship, to manage their payments in a manner that best suits the customer, and ensuring they remain connected to a retail service. This is provided through the Hardship Policy for Residential Customers of Minor and Intermediate Retailers
