Have Your Say: Council By-Laws Review

We invite community feedback on our updated Council By-Laws. Covering everything from pets and playgrounds to waste, signage, and the use of Council land and roads, these by-laws help us create a safe, inclusive, and well-governed community.

What Are By-Laws?

By-laws are local regulations designed to ensure good governance and address issues in our area. They help Council maintain convenient, safe, and enjoyable spaces for everyone.

Under Section 246 of the Local Government Act 1999 (SA), Council is required to review and formally adopt its by-laws every seven years. Our recent review has resulted in some proposed updates which are primarily minor changes for legislative, interpretive, or grammatical clarity. Importantly, no new by-laws have been created.
