Shaping Our Future Together: Introducing the 2025-2029 Township Community Plans
The District Council of Streaky Bay is proud to unveil the 2025-2029 Township Community Plans—a collective vision to guide the future of our distinctive and dynamic region. These plans, shaped through meaningful consultation with our community, chart the course for the development of our townships: Streaky Bay, Wirrulla, Poochera, Haslam, Sceale Bay, Perlubie, and Eba Anchorage.
A Vision Built on Collaboration
These plans are not just documents—they are the essence of our community’s voice, aspirations, and priorities. Through surveys, workshops, and personal discussions, more than 100 residents contributed their insights, ensuring the plans reflect what truly matters to our region.
Each township plan outlines key priorities identified by its community, such as:
- Enhancing services and infrastructure
- Promoting sustainable development
- Preserving cultural and natural heritage
A Foundation for Informed Council Decisions
The 2025-2029 Township Community Plans are essential tools for shaping Council’s decisions, particularly the four-year Priority Plan Document. While advisory in nature, they offer clear, actionable guidance to align development with the community’s needs and expectations.
The Streaky Bay Township Plan, for instance, emphasizes its role as a district-wide service hub, outlining initiatives that benefit both the township and the broader district communities.
What’s Inside the Plans?
Each plan details the specific priorities and aspirations unique to its township’s community. From facilitating tourism impact in Perlubie and improving recreational facilities in Wirrulla to revitalizing Streaky Bay’s foreshore precinct, these plans turn community input into actionable goals.
A Blueprint for Resilience and Growth
The Township Community Plans provide a structured yet adaptable framework to support development while meeting changing needs. By aligning community goals with Council’s strategic direction, we’re building a future that’s vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable for every township.
