The ambition of the members of the Powerhouse Museum is to restore and display engines that have been working in varied "occupations" over the last 100 years. To see visitors look and hear these old engines running as they used to many years ago, make the work all worth the while. According to comments in our visitor book, we may have one of the best displays in Australia.

Restored Engines
There are approximately 280 stationary engines restored to working condition on display. They are mainly small to medium sized but there are also severallarger exhibits of interest. Below is a list of just some of the working engines on display:
