COUNCIL LIABILITY FOR DAMAGES
Residents and ratepayers of the District Council of Streaky Bay are advised that in the event that they are of the opinion that Council action or in-action has resulted in personal loss/damage they should contact the Council in writing outlining the loss/damage and explaining the reason why they believe Council is responsible.
On receipt of such advice Council will forward the information to the Local Government Association Mutual Liability Scheme (LGAMLS) for their consideration. Once submitted to the LGAMLS all correspondence will be dealt with by the Scheme.

Better Development Conversion and Coastal Development Plan Amendment
Notice is hereby given that the District Council of Streaky Bay pursuant to sections 24 and 25 of the Development Act 1993, has prepared a Development Plan Amendment Report (DPA) to amend its Development Plan.
The Amendment will change the Development Plan by proposing to: covert the whole Development Plan to Better Development Plan Policy, review the Coastal Zone boundary and introduce four new zones (an Aquaculture Zone near Haslam, a Settlement Zone at Windmill Point, an Aquaculture Zone off Little Islands Road and a Caravan and Tourist Park Zone on Little Islands Road). The DPA report will be on public consultation from Monday 3 March 2014 until Monday 28 April 2014.
Copies of the DPA report are available during normal office hours at the Council office at 29 Alfred Tce. Alternatively the DPA report can be viewed on the Internet.
Written submissions regarding the DPA should be submitted no later than 5.00 pm on Monday 28 April 2014. All submissions should be marked attention Jennifer Brewis addressed to PO Box 179 Streaky Bay SA 5680 and should clearly indicate whether you wish to be heard in support of your submission at the public hearing. Copies of all submissions will be available for inspection at the Council office at 29 Alfred Tce Streaky Bay from 5 May 2014 until the conclusion of the public hearing.
A public hearing will be held on 20 May 2014 commencing at 6 PM at Streaky Bay at which time interested persons may be heard in relation to the DPA and the submissions. The public hearing will not be held if no submissions are received or if no submission makes a request to be heard.
